What is a Conservation Spring Goose Hunt?

By the late 1990s, snow geese were quite literally eating themselves out of house and home habitat, consuming the very tundra they nest on out from underneath them. To combat this, the Light Goose Conservation Order (LGCO) was issued, eliminating bag limits and extending seasons. To make hunting a more effective population control measure, the use of electronic calls is allowed and shot gun shell restrictions were lifted.

The late snow goose season created by the LGCO gives hunters the opportunity to pull the trigger well after duck seasons have closed. We hunt over large fields and out of comfortable, easy access pit blinds. This section of Nebraska is a reverse migration flyway. Meaning the birds are heading back from the Southern areas to Native Northern feeding grounds. For this reason, the Nebraska Spring Conservation Goose Hunts offer some of the highest volume waterfowl hunts one can experience.

Massive numbers of Geese move through this vital flyway each spring season. Book now and to enjoy a true once in lifetime guided waterfowl hunting adventure.

Weather Conditions: Spring weather conditions vary in this part of Nebraska for Spring Snow Goose Hunters. It can go from warm Spring like weather to below freezing within a few days. So please plan and pack the appropriate Goose Hunting Clothing.

Snow Goose Guide   Recommendations: A three-day hunt is

the best opportunity to harvest the most Conservation Geese in this area. It is also a good idea to plan a Pheasant hunt in combination with a Spring Conservation Goose Hunt. You will soon learn why Nebraska is considered a wing shooter’s paradise!
